Add Half5 to VS Code
Add the server using the MCP: Add Server command, or add it to .vscode/mcp.json. Start the server from the file and sign in when VS Code prompts you.

Sign in
You open Half5 in your browser, sign in with your Half5 account, and grant access. Unknown clients appear with a warning.

Ask VS Code to log time
For example: "Log 2 hours for the login fix." Half5 finds the customer and project for you. The entry appears in Half5 as a regular time log.

Log work without IDs
A description and the time are enough. Half5 picks the client and project.

Recognize client from the repository
Half5 looks at the repository name, your previous entries, and your clients. After you confirm an entry, Half5 remembers which repository belongs to which client.

Search, view, and edit
The agent searches clients and projects, retrieves your entries, and can edit or delete them. Only your own entries; it can't read your timeline.

Claude Code, Codex, Cursor, VS Code, and connectors in Claude.ai or ChatGPT. You'll see a warning before approving an unknown client.
