Where teams usually get stuck
In a team of ten, problems rarely come from one person. It’s the sum: hours submitted a week late, lines missing a description, leave tracked in a separate file, and mileage nobody remembers to bill. At the end of the month, someone has to piece it all together for invoicing.
Half5 brings it all into one place. Each employee sees in their own Timeline what they forgot to log, and you see the week they submit.
Weekly approval, four eyes on it
For each employee, you see the week’s logged hours, with leave and mileage side by side. If the week looks good, approve it in one click. If something’s off, decline that line with a note—the employee sees your feedback right there. Weeks with fewer hours than the contract or missing descriptions are flagged.
No one approves their own hours, unless they’re the only approver. With approval on, only approved hours go on an invoice. Mileage only needs approval if it’s billable. More in hour approval.
Roles and departments
Admins manage the whole organization. Department managers see and approve their own team’s entries. Employees only see their own hours. For each person, set working days and a rate, so someone on a four-day week isn’t measured against five.
Leave requests happen in the same app: a day, half day, or just a few hours. Requests show up at the top of approvals, next to who’s already out those weeks.
From approved hours to invoice and report
From approved hours, create draft invoices per client—send them from Half5 or forward to Moneybird, WeFact, e-Boekhouden, or Exact Online. In reports, see by client, project, employee, and activity where time went, which projects are over budget, and what’s left to invoice.
You see what’s logged. Not what was done.
-
The Timeline is private to the employee
Encrypted with a key that only exists on their devices. Not even admins can access it.
-
No screenshots
Half5 doesn’t take screenshots or record keystrokes.
-
Amounts only for those who need to know
You decide if department managers see revenue and rates, or just hours.
Frequently asked questions
As an employer, can I see what my employees do on their computers?
No. Only the employee can open the Timeline with programs and websites. You see the hours, leave, and mileage they log and submit.
Is approval required?
No, you can turn it on or off for your organization. Without approval, invoices are created from all saved hours.
What does it cost for a team?
You pay per user per month; prices are on the pricing page. With 50 or more users, you get a volume discount, and with a yearly plan you can pay by invoice.
How does a team get started?
Create an account, invite your team, and set up roles, working days, and rates. The first 14 days are free. No demo or call needed.
